Update During the Slowing Market (Apparently)
With how the market is at the moment, it has been way more difficult to come across a property to view which has made finding a bungalow especially difficult. The latest property has been on the market for some time, fortunately, the price on this property has been reducing significantly lately so felt it was a great opportunity to view it. Did the waiting pay off – was patience a virtue in this case?
The Viewing
Front of Property
Getting to the property was fairly easy since this was a well-known route I follow when leaving my local area for outings. The property had a great-sized drive with plenty of space to extend to allow an additional car on there. For starters, this already felt like a great property, as the driveway space would give me plenty of room to get out of my car, without worrying about people walking behind when the boot is opening…
Everything from the outside also looked new with clean-looking windows and a very modern-looking sign and the door just to the left of the door. Red bricks also came to mind as the property looked similar to the one I viewed when visiting the memory lane property in property update 8.
Inside of Property
Entering the property. there was a suitable-sized hallway, with enough space for my powerchair to get down. Just off to the left and right in the hallway were the doors to the two bedrooms, which were both reasonably sized and had plenty of manoeuvre space.
Further down the hallway, was access to the living area (right), the kitchen (middle) and the bathroom (left) – the living room was generously sized and had french doors at the back out to the decking area. The kitchen was also fairly sized, which would give me loads of space to get around and look modern.
Unfortunately, the bathroom was where this property was not. The bathroom had very limited space and had a very tight doorway – this would have made getting around this room a nightmare. While the bathroom could fit a bath and shower in there, to make this bathroom suitable would require a considerable amount of work which felt impractical.
Back Garden
When looking at the garden a cliff came to mind – with a drop as consistent with its price dropping. It wasn’t ideal when seeing it, since to get into the garden I would need a fairly long ramp – to exaggerate probably a mile-long ramp needed to be installed with how steep the drop was!
Although, one good thing about the garden with the bungalow, was its sheer size which really would be an awesome garden for somebody willing to tackle the long way down the steps into the garden…
Almost The One…
Once again, I was stopped in my tracks due to how small and unsuitable the bathroom was. The garden also had its challenges due to how steep it was (like a cliffside!). As disappointing as this property was for me, I will still try and find the perfect accessible property in this ever-slowing property market (as they say), though there is no knowing what could happen in the future!
