About Me

Online Drawing of Sam

Hi there! I’m Sam, the person behind Build My Accessible Home. When I’m not blogging, you’ll find me playing Powerchair Football, attending professional events, and enjoying music festivals and gigs. I also run a blog over at dynamicdouble.co.uk and volunteer as a Communications Officer for Nottinghamshire Powerchair Football Club.

In my downtime, I’m all about heavy music, gaming on my PC, and watching TV shows, films, and anime series. I consider myself friendly and approachable, with plenty of experience in teamwork and collaboration thanks to my career. I’m also always up for socialising over a cup of Yorkshire, Coffee Tea or a pint!

I have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, which can make daily tasks a bit more challenging. But that hasn’t stopped me from kickstarting my career and buying my first property. I see my disability as just another challenge to overcome, not a barrier to living life to the fullest.

This website is a reflection of my personal experiences and the challenges I’ve faced in navigating the housing market as a disabled person. While I’m still learning, I hope my journey as a disabled property owner can inspire others to do the same
