First Update!
As mentioned in my previous post, I would be creating new content on my experience regarding house hunting. Over the last few weeks, I’ve come across a couple nice looking houses that felt perfect for me. I booked a couple of house viewings in hopes to find the perfect home to put on offer. However, things didn’t really go to plan in the end so haven’t really made why significant progress yet.
What Happened?
So why didn’t things go exactly to plan? I’ve included the reasons why they weren’t the perfect homes below.
First Property
The first property wasn’t the house for me. It was just too small for a powerchair to move or turn in. Due to the house being inaccessible I had to send other people there on my behalf to view the property. Since the property had no way of being amended, it was never built for an essential powerchair user.
It stung hearing it at first but the property itself was quite old and was never built to support disabled people like me. Even now, we still get homes like this being built in places, with unsuitable features. It can be hit or miss with what you can adapt in the house sometimes.
Second Property
Unfortunately the second house, I booked, was sold before I could even see the property. This also stung considerably because the property looked quite spacious despite needing considerable work to adapt and redecorate the property. It was never meant to be so the search for the next accessible home continues!
The Search Continues!
Well, at the moment there aren’t many homes within my price range locally but I’ll continue my search for a perfect accessible home. I’m hopeful that another property will pop up soon, which could be the perfect home for me!
