So we’re back again with the 17th edition of property hunt, the series in which I document my search for an ideal accessible property to purchase. Today’s property is a bungalow, which is the perfect size if you want to downsize. Will the property today be the ideal property/bungalow for me? Read on to find out how I got on!
Arrival
Front of Property
At the front of the property was an incredibly spacious private road, leading towards the property. The driveway was nicely paved with plenty of room to park a small to medium vehicle outside of the property. On the front of the home, we’re two large windows for the bedroom and living room areas of the property. Down the right-hand side of the house was an alleyway leading to the entrance of the property.
Inside
On entering the property, there is a fairly decent-sized hallway, which to the right leads to an open-plan living area. To the back of the living area, a conservatory can be found leading right into the garden. Straight on from the hallway was a shower room, which unfortunately was too small after a second thought.
However, on first inspection, it looked to be ideal if some parts of the bathroom were to be moved around (misleading images again!). Finally, to the left, there were two decent-sized bedrooms with plenty of space for rest or to be used as a separate room/office space.
Back of Property (Garden)
Leading from the back of the property. there is a fair-sized garden with all the features you could expect. In the far right of the garden is a decent size shed, plenty of grass and a small area of patio, giving you options to enjoy the great outdoors!
Not For Me
After viewing the property, I thought it was an ideal property but didn’t give myself enough chance to think it through. In the current housing market, houses can quickly get snatched up, especially bungalows which are in high demand at the moment due to both younger and older people looking to downsize.
What put me off the property was how small the bathroom was. It looked to be big enough for a powerchair user such as myself but on second thought, it just didn’t hit the mark for my needs. It does highlight how quickly your opinion can change on a property and how finding the perfect home is never as easy as it seems.
