Second Update
Hi everyone and welcome to my second house-hunting update! Since our first update, I booked a second house for a viewing. My first update didn’t go as planned so in this update I’ve covered another house. These updates aim to go through my thoughts on the access and struggles of the house in finding the perfect home. Was I lucky this time? Read on to find out!
The Viewing
The home itself was a lovely two-bedroom bungalow, set in a very nice area by a field. The area itself wasn’t in a bad place either, with plenty of shops and things to do nearby. Did I mention it has minty green carpets? It was a really attractive bungalow for me but it honestly wasn’t meant to be.
On viewing the house, it wasn’t big enough for my powerchair to get around. The entrance also had a step into the property, which automatically made the house inaccessible. I know this could be fixed by buying the property but I can’t judge if a property if I can’t get into it, to begin with. Again, this was another property I had to send somebody else to view on my behalf.
One common issue I’ve faced is how deceiving housing images can be. The house itself looked very spacious but on viewing, it appeared a little smaller. I will be covering how we could make the viewing process more accessible in a future post. Overall, I feel I was being too optimistic about this property and what it had to offer…
Back On The Hunt!
Since I had no luck this time, I will continue to look for better and more accessible housing options on the market. It isn’t always that easy to find the perfect home when you have specific needs but life isn’t always so straightforward either.
